Lakkar bazar is situated in the heart of shimla at walking distance from The Ridge. Lakkar Bazar is famous for wooden stuff and souvenirs. Jakhoo Temple

Himachal State Museum

Indian institute of Advanced Studies
Indian Institute of advanced studies is one of the most beautiful and important buildings in the history of Shimla. The place was the home of the viceroy of India during the British times when Shimla was the summer capital of India.
The institute has also played host to many famous visitors like Mahatma Gandhi, Indra Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru and many historical decisions have been made here like the Shimla conference to decide upon the self rule in India and the historical decision in 1971 to carve Bangladesh from Pakistan. The place is now a research institute for Postdoctoral scholars and a section of the building is open for tourists for a glimpse of it.
Annadale Army Heritage Museum is located near the Annadale ground. The museum is dedicated to the Indian army and showcases the history of the Indian Army for more than 2000 years. Surrounded by the thick deodar forest there is also a beautiful nag devta temple located near the museum.
Mashobra is a quaint little town located around 12 kms from the Shimla city center. Mashobra is famous for its peaceful surroundings and thick Deodar forest. Many luxury hotels are located in the vicinity of Mashobra and is also famous for one of the presidential retreats in India. Craignano Nature Park is a newly added attraction in Mashobra and is famous for its beautiful gardens, nature walks, peaceful surroundings and small fun activities for children.
Naldehra is further 12 kms ahead of Mashobra and is famous for its spectacular 18 hole golf course, which is also one of the oldest golf clubs in India. The place is picture perfect and one can also enjoy activities like forest walks, horse riding, zip lining and Burma bridge.
